This affordable housing project, consisting of 18 plots with 1, 2, and 3 bedroom houses, is the largest affordable housing project in the Scottish Islands which will hopefully see tenants moving in very soon. Cutwood Joinery was chosen as the preferred supplier to provide three types of staircases: straight, landing, and kitewind. We have implemented an innovative manufacturing process and ensure that our wooden products come from legal and sustainable sources. Working closely with quantity surveyors and adhering to local planning guidelines, Cutwood Joinery manufactured bespoke staircases based on architects’ drawings for precise measurements. Despite challenges with ferry cancellations, we successfully transported the first phase of staircases to the Isle of Arran for Arran Development Trust with extreme care.
